Donald Trump is surrounded by schemers and conspirators within his own government.
Barack Obama’s allies embedded themselves in Washington and in some cases even presented themselves as allies of the President.
And there will be hell to pay when Trump finds out about this Deep State agent’s act of treason.
President Trump almost fired Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein when a bombshell story broke that after Trump fired then-FBI Director James Comey, Rosenstein plotted with Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe about wearing a wire to record the President.
The story also reported that Rosenstein approached cabinet officials about using the 25th Amendment to execute a coup and remove President Trump from office.
Rosenstein claimed he was only joking and President Trump did not sack Rosenstein because it could have led to impeachment proceedings.
The Deputy Attorney General’s explanation struck some Trump supporters as plausible because the source for this story was clearly disgraced former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
McCabe is not only a Comey loyalist – but he is also facing a criminal investigation over charges he lied to investigators about media leaks – who Trump supporters saw as planting this story to sow discord and possibly bait Trump into firing Rosenstein and triggering the House to initiate impeachment hearings.
But that rationale no longer holds water.
That’s because of the explosive New York Times story claiming the FBI opened up a counterintelligence investigation into President Trump to determine if he took orders from Moscow when he fired Comey.
The allegation was preposterous on the face of it.
What clearly happened was Comey’s allies in the FBI – like McCabe, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok – wanted revenge on the President for firing their Deep State commander.
The only way the investigation could get off the ground was with the approval and knowledge of Justice Department higher-ups.
And that meant Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his Deputy Rod Rosenstein were not just in the loop, they gave the go-ahead.
It no longer looks like Rosenstein offering to wear a wire was a joking response to waive off a hysterical McCabe.
Critics believe Rosenstein offered his services to perform undercover spying duties to help the FBI frame the President for acting as a Russian agent.
The good news is Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein recently announced he was leaving the Justice Department in March.
Trump supporters breathed a sigh of relief on multiple levels.
First, it was the clearest sign that Robert Mueller’s rigged witch hunt will wrap in the coming weeks.
Secondly, it means a disloyal snake is removing himself from the position of power that he held.
The President can now be confident the Department of Justice will be stacked with officials whose loyalty is to the country, the Constitution, and the President and not the Deep State and Washington swamp.
