While many supporters think Trump is invincible, they’ve never seen anything like the onslaught that’s about to be launched against the White House.
And just because the Deep State unfairly and illegally attacks the President doesn’t mean they can’t harm his presidency.
In fact, Donald Trump may be sunk by what one of John McCain’s former flunkies said about the Ukraine scandal.
President Trump is facing an impeachment inquiry based on the assumption that his request to have the Ukrainian President look into what was “going on with Hunter Biden’s involvement with Burisma Holdings” was somehow a move to harm his political rival’s Presidential campaign.
It would appear, however, that based on the legal testimony of a former diplomat and ex-John McCain employee, there may not have been anything going on between Biden and Ukraine.
If people believe that, then it puts President Trump in a precarious situation.
Worse yet, this diplomat – who once worked closely with the Ukrainian government – is defending Biden and his character while speaking poorly of Trump and his team.
On Friday, Kurt Volker, a one-time special envoy to Ukraine with the State Department and former legislative fellow on the staff of Senator John McCain, testified in front of Congress that “he was not involved in or aware of any effort to press Ukraine to investigate allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden.”
In addition, Volker said Biden was a man of impeccable character and that the President’s allegations that Biden was involved in a massive extortion deal (withholding 1 billion dollars in foreign aid to have prosecutors drop an investigation into his son Hunter) is not to be viewed as credible.
Appearing before Congress, Volker said, “I have known former Vice President Biden for 24 years, and the suggestion that he would be influenced in his duties as vice president by money for his son simply has no credibility to me. I know him as a man of integrity and dedication to our country.”
Volker then proceeded to make the President and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani look like paranoid men who weren’t just afraid of Biden winning an election, but were afraid of Ukraine as well.
In his prepared remarks, he said that Trump didn’t trust Ukraine’s leadership and that Ukraine had tried to take him down.
“The President was very skeptical. Given Ukraine’s history of corruption, that is understandable. He said that Ukraine was a corrupt country, full of ‘terrible people.’ He said they ‘tried to take me down,'” Volker said in opening remarks.
“In the course of that conversation, he referenced conversations with Mayor Giuliani. It was clear to me that despite the positive news and recommendations being conveyed by this official delegation about the new President, President Trump had a deeply rooted negative view on Ukraine rooted in the past,” Volker said.
This testimony, combined with a few text messages from President Trump’s team that seem to imply that a potential meeting between Trump and Ukraine’s President Zelensky would only take place if Ukraine launched an investigation into 2016 election interference and Hunter Biden’s role in Burisma Holdings, could be enough to sway Americans support of the President.
And if that happens, there’s not just a guarantee Trump would be impeached in the House, there’s a chance he could be impeached in the Senate too.
