Donald Trump’s Campaign Could be Over Because of Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi and President Trump have been butting heads ever since she became Speaker of the House earlier in the year.

All the while, Pelosi has been one of the key individuals responsible for bringing impeachment charges against the President.

And in this breaking piece of news, Pelosi’s recent action could mortally wound Trump’s campaign.

While a recent USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll finds Trump with an unshakeable base, there are still millions of Americans undecided when it comes to whether they support Trump or support his impeachment.

While the elections are more than 12 months away, that doesn’t mean what happens now couldn’t bring Trump’s reelection bid to a standstill.

In fact, now that Pelosi is bringing an impeachment inquiry vote to the House floor, the rubber is about to meet the road as Democrats begin in earnest to legally remove the President from office.

In a press release that also served as a letter to the House of Representatives, Pelosi outlined her plans to bring Trump to “justice.”

This week, we will bring a resolution to the Floor that affirms the ongoing, existing investigation that is currently being conducted by our committees as part of this impeachment inquiry, including all requests for documents, subpoenas for records and testimony, and any other investigative steps previously taken or to be taken as part of this investigation.

This resolution establishes the procedure for hearings that are open to the American people, authorizes the disclosure of deposition transcripts, outlines procedures to transfer evidence to the Judiciary Committee as it considers potential articles of impeachment, and sets forth due process rights for the President and his Counsel.”

The Democrats have yearned for impeachment for so long, it almost seemed like they’d never get the chance to bring it to the floor for a vote.

But today, with Pelosi’s stamp of approval, an impeachment inquiry won’t just put the President in rarified air, it will likely lead to his impeachment in the House on a party-line vote.

However, an actual impeachment conviction will almost certainly die in the Senate.

Still, it doesn’t mean Trump’s an automatic win in 2020.

Opinion polls show that the Democrats don’t need to field a contender who matches Trump in popularity or bravado. They only need the public to hate him so much, they’ll gladly vote for anyone else but him.

Six months ago when the Mueller report dropped and the American public had access to the details, it was all but a foregone conclusion Trump would win in 2020.

Now, not so much.

Yes, Trump still enjoys popularity among Republican voters and plenty of them support his policies…but it’s the undecided voters Trump needs to worry about.

In 2016, Trump lost the popular vote… But in 2020, fresh off impeachment in the House, Trump could lose the Electoral College.
