Donald Trump’s Impeachment Hearings Begin with a Whimper and Stunning Lack of Evidence

The first day of impeachment hearings were described as being like a circus.

As the impeachment charade kicked off, Democrats were forced to admit that any hearsay testimony would be just as powerful as actual evidence.

And most observers agree, Donald Trump’s impeachment hearings began with a whimper and a stunning lack of evidence.

Yesterday, the much awaited impeachment hearings began in the U.S. House of Representatives.

But even CSPAN understood the true nature of the hearings and relegated them to CSPAN 3.

As Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY-4) noted in a tweet yesterday, “I’d say it’s more like putting the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus on local cable access.”

A headline in The Wall Street Journal summed up the hearings this way, “Outside the Hearing Room, an Impeachment Carnival.”

Even President Trump, who admitted he’d been too busy to watch, said, “I hear it’s a joke. This is a sham and shouldn’t be allowed.”

Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA-22) declared the Democrats were conducting a “carefully orchestrated smear campaign.”

As the first two witnesses testified, one fact became strikingly clear – this truly is an attempt by Deep State operatives to take out a sitting President for no reason other than they don’t like him or his policies.

Both “key” witnesses testified that they “didn’t like” certain policies and felt the President was acting improperly.

William Taylor, a U.S. diplomat in the Ukraine, and George Kent, another career diplomat, proved several times that they belong to a larger group of government employees working to oust Donald Trump.

But the highlight of the proceedings was the arrival of flamboyant New Jersey drag queen Pissi Myles who was there to cover the hearings for Happs News – a live-streaming LGBTQ news program aimed at high school and college students.

It’s clear that the first day of testimony did not go well for the Democrats and only widened the divide between the majority of Americans who are sick of this clown show and those who just hate all things Trump.

In fact, while the U.S. House has come to a full-stop on everything except impeachment, Senate Republicans were busy confirming more Trump judicial nominees.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) summed it up this way, “Oh, I’m actually working. I have a job.”

And even Trump-critic Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), when asked if he was watching the hearings said, “I can’t just tell ‘em to hold my day open so I can watch TV.”

We will keep you posted on more impeachment news over the next few days and next week.

Feel free to comment with your thoughts on the proceedings.
