Senator Lindsey Graham has never been a favorite of either liberty activists or Trump supporters.
And he is a well-known close friend to the Biden family.
That’s why Donald Trump was shocked when Lindsey Graham made this surprise announcement.
The Donald Trump impeachment fiasco is finally winding down in the U.S. Senate.
And as predicted here at Deep State since the beginning of the charade, and to no one’s great surprise, President Trump will be acquitted and continue to govern our nation and most likely be re-elected in November.
While Trump and his supporters are riding high, the Democrats and the so-called “Never-Trump Republicans” are in total disarray as their attempt to overturn the election of Donald Trump via impeachment failed on every level and further energized Trump’s base.
In fact recent poll numbers show Trump doing better than ever across every category, including a whopping 42% support among Black voters, a historic accomplishment if that number holds.
And on Monday things got worse as the Democrat Iowa caucuses ended in a tie, i.e. no one had any votes as of Tuesday afternoon thanks to a coding error.
We even learned on social media that Democrats don’t even know how to flip a coin.
Meanwhile, in another, less reported story, Senator Lindsey Graham, the moderate GOP South Carolina “maverick” shocked the D.C. swamp rats by making a surprising announcement on Fox News.
The Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said that he and other Republicans will begin calling witnesses within weeks for hearings related to both Hunter Biden’s work in the Ukraine, and the FBI’s surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
“We’re going to get to the bottom of this,” Graham said firmly in an interview on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.
Graham even went so far as to ask the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Jim Risch (R-ID) to call and question the chief of staff to former Secretary of State John Kerry to testify, under oath, about concerns he raised about Hunter Biden and Burisma Holdings.
Graham stated that the Senate will also hear from Christopher Heinz, Kerry’s stepson, who was a business partner of Hunter Biden.
State Department emails show that Heinz actually contacted State Department officials in May of 2014 to raise a warning about Hunter Biden’s relationship with Burisma.
Graham went on to say that Senate Republicans will “eventually get to Hunter Biden” after the first round of witnesses are called.
But most shockingly, Graham said he “can prove beyond any doubt” that Vice President Joe Biden’s efforts to supposedly root out corruption in Ukraine were undermined by his son’s position on Burisma’s board.
“We’re not going to give him a pass on that,” Graham said.
In even better news for liberty advocates, Graham said his committee will call a number of former top FBI and DOJ officials like James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Rod Rosenstein and Sally Yates to testify about FISA warrants that they personally signed in order to wiretap the Trump campaign, and in particular Trump staffer Carter Page.
“When it comes to FISA, I’m going to call Rosenstein, Sally Yates, McCabe, and Comey to find out how a warrant was issued to [surveil] Carter Page on four different occasions without adequate foundation and find out about how the Department of Justice and FBI became so out of bounds when it came to Trump,” Graham said.
These moves by Graham follow a Justice Department inspector general report that found the FBI submitted false and misleading information about Page to obtain the warrants.
The Justice Department conceded Jan. 7 that two of the warrants were “not valid.”
The inspector general’s report further stated that FBI agents failed to inform the secretive FISA court about exculpatory information related to Page that we now know would have invalidated the warrants.
The IG’s report also said the FBI failed to disclose numerous problems with the so-called Steele dossier, which the FBI cited extensively in its FISA applications.
It may be that the FBI and DOJ have finally gone too far, even too far for Lindsey Graham.
While we here at Deep State Journal have long criticized Lindsey Graham for his support of FISA and never-ending wars, we are eagerly waiting to see if he follows through on these investigations.
