It wasn’t long ago when Amazon was just an internet site to buy books and Netflix was a DVD mailing service.
Now, Amazon is the biggest online warehouse in the world and Netflix produces its own movies. Amazon also followed Netflix’s path and offers many movies and shows for users to stream.
But Amazon just banned this documentary because it exposed mainstream media manipulation.
Mainstream media manipulation is nothing new.
Yellow journalism, a sensationalized and crude competition between newspapers, was born out of the rivalry between Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World and William Randolph Hearst’s New York Journal.
Yellow journalism peaked between 1895 and 1898 in America.
But did it ever really stop?
Today, the most noticeable rivalry in the media is probably CNN and Fox News. Each side demonizes the other, but the truth is the liberal media has much more control over media manipulation.
And a new documentary from Scooter Downey and Jon du Toit entitled “Hoaxed” set out with one purpose – to expose the Fake News phenomenon and the consequences it has on viewers.
It was originally available through Amazon Prime to rent or buy, then suddenly it was gone.
As of last week, Amazon removed the documentary altogether, which confused not only the filmmakers but everybody who had already bought or rented it.
If you look at the site’s page for “Hoaxed,” it simply says, “This title is currently unavailable.”
Conservative activist Mike Cernovich, who is featured in the documentary, tweeted his dismay with Amazon for removing the film after users had already paid to stream it.

It’s a tad ironic that Amazon would remove a documentary about media manipulation by manipulating users to buy it – and then remove it from their library. Granted, Amazon is not technically the media, but Amazon boss Jeff Bezos does own the Washington Post.
And the documentary had been doing really well before it was removed. Cernovich noted,

Amazon didn’t respond to the multiple inquiries about why they decided to remove “Hoaxed,” but it seems pretty obvious that Amazon and the liberal so-called “mainstream” media are in cahoots with one another.
While this gargantuan streaming platform proudly features movies with extreme graphic violence, anti-President Trump propaganda, and gratuitous sex scenes, it’s just a bridge too far when it comes to exposing the Fake News pandemic.
