It certainly seems like the deep state media dangles a fishing hook with no bait on it in the desperate hopes of catching the proverbial fish in President Trump’s administration.
And when they’re so sure they will catch a huge fish to show their anti-Trump fishing buddies; it turns out what they thought was a big catch, was just a tree branch, or an old tire.
And President Trump just squashed the latest deep state media fishing expedition over its reporting of a story involving Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s dog walker.
Approximately two weeks ago, then-Inspector General Steve Linick was fired from the State Department due to growing concerns that he leaked sensitive information to the media.
Brian Bulatao, the State Department’s undersecretary for management, told the Washington Post in an interview that he had a growing concern due to a “pattern of unauthorized disclosures, or leaks,” that were too released early to the media.
Bulatao said officials had no evidence Linick was personally responsible for the leaks but that there was strong suspicion, which came to a head last fall with media reports about one investigation citing “two government sources involved in carrying out the investigation.”
The State Department’s undersecretary added, “You know the IG is normally charged with carrying out the investigation. It certainly was a very strong finger-pointing at IG Linick’s way.”
The media concocted a story out of thin air that the reason why Linick was ultimately fired was because he was investigating a claim that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asked one of his staffers to walk his dog and pick up his dry cleaning. Yes, you read that right.
Obama’s deep state media asked President Trump to comment on this claim and his response was nothing short of astounding.
President Trump went scorched Earth on this accusation saying, “You mean he’s under investigation because he had somebody walk his dog, from the government? I don’t know. It doesn’t sound — I don’t think it sounds like that important. I mean, you have a man that’s supposed to be — and he’s a brilliant guy, number one at West Point, number one at Harvard, I believe — Harvard Law School, or close … and they’re bothered because he’s having somebody walk his dog, as you’re telling me? I didn’t know that, I didn’t hear that, I didn’t know about an investigation. But this is what you get with the Democrats.”
Isn’t that the truth? Can you imagine being a member of the corrupt mainstream media and actually being concerned that one of the leaders of President Trump’s administration asked a staffer to run personal errands? Does that not sound like this journalist is drinking the proverbial Kool-Aid here?
Trump later slammed the general press corps, “I’d rather have him on the phone with some world leader than have him wash dishes… Do you know how stupid that sounds to the world?”
Exactly. We have much bigger concerns right now than getting to the bottom of who walked another man’s dog. It’s absurd to even think that is an actual “corruption” story. Yet, they’re painting it that way because they’ve been instructed to do so by none other than Obama himself.
President Trump concluded,“[Pompeo is] supposed to be negotiating war and peace with major, major countries, with weaponry like the world has never seen before, and the Democrats and the fake news media, they’re interested in a man who’s walking their dog? And maybe he’s busy. And maybe he’s negotiating with [North Korean leader] Kim Jong-un, okay, about nuclear weapons. So that he’d say, “Please, could you walk my dog? Would you mind walking my dog? I’m talking to Kim Jong-un,” or, “I‘m talking to [Chinese] President Xi [Jinping] about paying us for some of the damage they have caused to the world, and to us. Please walk my dog.” To — who, a Secret Service person or somebody, right? I don’t know. I think this country has a long way to go. They — the priorities are really screwed up when I read this. Now, I don’t know anything about the investigation but, you’re just telling me about walking a dog — and, what’d you say, doing dishes?”
President Trump is absolutely correct. Why are we focused on frivolousness when we have a deadly virus that has snatched the lives of more than 350,000 people globally? Imagine trying to explain to the media there are more important things going on here and they’re focused on the wrong thing.
President Trump’s “rant” was in response to him being totally dumbfounded by the accusation. He then literally explains to them like a teacher reading a picture book to their students that it’s a non-story and a non-issue when they already knew that to begin with.
