One Republican Senator Just Infiltrated the Deep State New York Times

The New York Times is the biggest dumpster fire of all liberal news institutions.

CNN and MSNBC are admittedly terrible too, but a newspaper that was once regarded as a respected source has evolved into an Orwellian fascist nightmare.

But one Republican senator just infiltrated the deep state New York Times

The New York Times is littered with far-left drivel, but every once in a while, the notoriously liberal news institution will publish a narrative that goes against the views of its socialist editorial puppet masters.

That’s what happened in a recent op-ed the NYT published written by Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton.

The op-ed was published on June 3rd and entitled “Send in the Troops” with the subtitle “The nation must restore order. The military stands ready.”

In this piece, Sen. Cotton opens with, “This week, rioters have plunged many American cities into anarchy, recalling the widespread violence of the 1960s. New York City suffered the worst of the riots Monday night, as Mayor Bill de Blasio stood by while Midtown Manhattan descended into lawlessness. Bands of looters roved the streets, smashing and emptying hundreds of businesses.”

Of course, liberals were furious with this article because they are egging on the civil unrest and pushing for the “defund the police” policy – the perfect example of the lawlessness they’re salivating over.

But Cotton also said, “Some elites have excused this orgy of violence in the spirit of radical chic, calling it an understandable response to the wrongful death of George Floyd. Those excuses are built on a revolting moral equivalence of rioters and looters to peaceful, law-abiding protesters. A majority who seek to protest peacefully shouldn’t be confused with bands of miscreants,” while also adding, “But the rioting has nothing to do with George Floyd, whose bereaved relatives have condemned violence.”

How can somebody argue with this point? This is exactly what’s going on in America’s streets right now. These looters and rioters are opportunists, nothing more.

The liberal pitchfork mob and the blue checkmark brigade blasted the New York Times for even publishing the piece.

That’s why the New York Times’ editorial page editor, James Bennet, resigned over the weekend. Also, his deputy, James Dao, was reassigned to a different part of the newspaper.

Apparently, publishing this piece was enough to revamp the entire staff. In fact, there was pretty much a revolt within the Times due to this.

For now, Katie Kingsbury, a Pulitzer Prize winner for editorial writing will oversee the opinion pages through the November elections.

Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger said in a statement that he was grateful for the changes Bennet had made to the paper’s opinion pages, including broadening the range of voices.

Bennet, who was editor of The Atlantic before taking over the Times’ opinion pages in 2016, had received some heat for adding new voices, including conservative columnist Bret Stephens.

But one Republican senator from Arkansas changed it all. The fallout over one opinion piece is astounding.
