Joe Biden Uses Colorado Tragedy To Urge Congress to Pass This “Immediately”

Democrats have long upheld the belief to “never let a good tragedy go to waste.”

And usually that results in higher taxes, bigger government, and less freedom.

So, it’s no surprise that Joe Biden is using the Colorado tragedy to urge Congress to pass this “immediately.”

The shooting in Colorado – which followed closely on the heels of the shooting in Atlanta – are both horrible tragedies and the shooters must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

In Atlanta, we know that Robert Aaron Long felt massage parlors were fueling his sexual addictions.

In Colorado, all we know about Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa is that he’s a self-described radical Islamist.

However, in both cases, one thing is certain and it’s that we know stricter gun laws would’ve made no difference.

And yet, while admitting he doesn’t have all the facts about the Colorado shooting, President Joe Biden has called on Congress to immediately pass an “assault weapon” ban.

Of course, as readers of Deep State Journal know, “assault weapons” don’t exist. Rather it is a made-up term for a certain class of weapons that the Democrats and socialists like to use when they attempt to ban guns.

But as usual, facts do not matter to the radical left when it comes to stealing Americans’ freedoms and destroying the constitution.

Biden said he didn’t “want to wait another minute, let alone an hour,” to act on gun violence.

He urged the House and Senate to ban “assault weapons” as he had done when he was a Senator, bizarrely claiming that “it [had] brought down mass shootings.”

Biden did not explain how, since he already banned assault weapons, how banning them again would have any effect.

Nor was he able to offer any proof that mass shootings had gone down due to stricter gun control laws.

In fact, all we know for sure about gun control laws and gun bans is that they don’t work and only penalize law-abiding citizens.

Criminals, by their very nature, do not obey the law. But that isn’t stopping Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer who says the Senate will specifically move to expand gun background checks — an effort that has long failed in the upper chamber.

“We cannot seem to finish grieving one tragedy before another takes place,” Schumer said, “It is a reminder that we must confront a devastating truth in the United States: an unrelenting epidemic of gun violence steals innocent lives with alarming regularity,” Schumer said.

Of course, neither Biden nor Schumer was willing to point out that these mass shootings seem to always occur in “gun-free” zones or urban cities like Chicago and Washington, DC where strict gun bans are in effect.

But the facts don’t fit into the narrative that guns are bad and must be taken out of the hands of law-abiding Americans.

While both the Atlanta and Colorado shootings are horrible tragedies, if Joe Biden and his comrades get their way, much worse will follow.

Criminals will roam the streets while unarmed Americans cower in fear as they already do in Portland, Chicago, and other Democrat strongholds.
