In just under a decade, Chip and Joanna Gaines went from real estate investors to mega stars of the hit HGTV show “Fixer Upper.”
The whole world fell in love with their wholesome lifestyle and obsession with shiplap.
But now Chip and Joanna Gaines have done the one thing that could mean the end for them.
It’s hard not to love Chip and Joanna Gaines.
Both Chip and Joanna have seen the fruits of years of hard work and reliance on their Christian faith.
Most people find their show, Fixer Upper, to be an endearing and accurate representation of the American dream.
They’ve literally gone from flipping houses in Waco, Texas to becoming international stars and multi-millionaires.
In fact, they’ve expanded out from HGTV to having their own Magnolia Network and their own line of home goods.
And they did it all through hard work, love, and an unwavering faith in God.
So, of course, in today’s culture, it was only a matter of time before the radical left came along to tear down all that the Gaines family represents.
Afterall, this couple threatens the very narrative of the left – which is that America is actually not the land of opportunity, but a broken land in need of socialist flagellation and reparation.
The attacks on the Gaines started last week.
The once-respected media outlet, The Hill, ran a hit piece on Chip and Joanna for making a $1,000 donation to a political candidate.
The candidate?
Chip’s sister!
Even crazier, it isn’t like Chip’s sister is running for Congress or Senate. She’s not running for governor or even a seat in the state house.
Nope, she’s running for a seat on her local school board.
And why would such a small donation to a tiny school board election ruffle the feathers of the “woke” radical left anyways?
Because Chip’s sister is opposed to critical race theory.
And because Joanna is very popular among the white, suburban demographic, the left can’t have her acting like some sort of Christian role model.
As one very confused, but very “woke” leftist on Twitter explained, she just can’t support them anymore because they are “against factual American history” and “we white people have been persecuting POC for way too long.”
What makes the attack on the Magnolia couple even more ridiculous is that the school district where Chip’s sister is running isn’t even considering implementing critical race theory in their curriculum – it’s just a personal belief she holds fast to.
That makes all of this nothing more than a petty attack by the radical left in an attempt to smear a genuinely lovely, scandal-free family.
Fortunately, many on Twitter rallied to the Gaines’ defense.
In fact, in response to the left’s attacks, Chip’s sister’s campaign page has been circulated around the internet and thousands are donating – not because they know her or her school district, but because Americans are just so sick of “woke” culture.
