Nancy Pelosi and Liz Cheney continue to try and peddle the fake news that what happened at the Capitol on January 6 was an insurrection.
But the vast majority of Americans know the whole January 6 committee is nothing but a witch hunt to get Trump and his supporters.
But now Donald Trump’s chief of staff just turned the tables on Nancy Pelosi and Liz Cheney.
Former Chief of Staff for President Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, made the decision not to cooperate with Nancy Pelosi’s sham January 6 investigatory committee, which means he will almost certainly face contempt of Congress charges.
Of course, that puts him in good company as most Americans hold Congress in contempt.
In fact, Meadows did not even appear for a scheduled deposition before the House Select Committee that is laughably “investigating” the January 6 Capitol riot.
They are, of course, not investigating the fact that FBI agents and Capitol Hill police are seen, on video, opening the doors and letting protestors in.
Nor are they investigating the disgusting images of police beating a woman to death in the Capitol tunnel then moving her body.
Instead, they are “investigating” the myth that there was some high and mighty coordinated insurrection run personally by President Trump and his people.
Let’s be clear on one thing. What happened on January 6 was a bunch of protestors got out of control and, angered by their treatment by a Democrat-run government and police who were beating and shooting unarmed citizens, rioted.
Let’s also be clear – if, or when, an insurrection comes, everyone will know it. And this wasn’t it.
Nevertheless, Democrat Congressman Bennie Thompson, Chairman of the sham committee, said in a letter to Meadows’ lawyer that the failure to appear would mean the committee is “left with no choice but to advance contempt proceedings and recommend that the body in which Mr. Meadows once served refer him for criminal prosecution.”
Meadows, along with being Trump’s former chief of staff, previously served as a Republican congressman from North Carolina.
Meadows’ attorney, George Terwilliger, told Thompson in a letter that Meadows assumed a responsibility to protect executive privilege before and after his tenure, and “his appreciation for our constitutional system and for the separation of powers dictates that he cannot voluntarily appear under these circumstances.”
It didn’t take much longer for Meadows to retaliate even further against the joke of a committee.
Politico first reported that court records from the U.S. District Court in D.C. show Meadows will file a civil complaint against the legislators on the phony committee.
In addition to Pelosi, the civil lawsuit specifically lists the individual members of the Jan. 6 panel: Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), Susan Lofgren (D-Calif.), Elaine Luria (D-Va.), Peter Aguilar (D- Calif.), Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.).
They are all being sued by Meadows in their official capacity.
CNBC reported that the case seeks to have the court invalidate two subpoenas issued by the panel to both Meadows and his personal cellphone carrier, Verizon.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the joke of a committee are seeking to do nothing more than take down Donald Trump, his allies and his supporters.
This entire investigation has been nothing but a witch hunt from day one and someone must put a stop to it immediately.
We have to wonder where House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is and why he is remaining so silent.
America and the GOP need more fighters like Mark Meadows, willing to stand up to the lawlessness of both parties.
