The first year of the Biden administration has been nothing if not confusing.
And the mixed messages are continuing and becoming even more confusing especially when it comes to COVID.
Because now Joe Biden seems to be throwing in the towel but Dr. Fauci is still clinging to power.
The messaging on the COVID pandemic has been confusing and maddening from the beginning.
Don’t wear a mask, wear a mask, wear two masks, quarantine, don’t quarantine, don’t take the vaccine – it’s not safe, wait, take it now, it’s safe…
…it goes on and on and on.
And it continues now some 20 months later.
Dr. Anthony Fauci now admits that the United States’ management of COVID-19 needs to be better. But not better as in return to constitutional freedoms and follow established medical science.
No, the good Dr. Fauci, who seems to have studied medicine in 1930s Germany, now says vaccine mandates for air travel could be an effective way of increasing forced vaccination rates among Americans.
Appearing on ABC’s “This Week”, Fauci stated that “anything” to get more people vaccinated would be welcome. This despite the increasing evidence that the vaccines are not as effective as we were told, have worse side effects than we were told, and may cause more long-term damage than we were told.
Those problems don’t bother Herr Doktor Fauci.
“A vaccine requirement for a person getting on the plane is just another level of getting people to have a mechanism that would spur them to get vaccinated,” Fauci said.
Fauci acknowledged in the interview how contagious the Omicron variant appears in comparison to previous variants, while not discussing how mild the variant is.
“We’ve got to do better,” Fauci said. “I think things will improve greatly as we get into January, but that doesn’t help us today and tomorrow.”
Back in October, the Biden administration tried to mandate that all companies, including airlines, with federal contracts must have a vaccinated staff. This vaccine mandate is now pending in federal court and has been struck down by multiple courts already.
It’s no wonder then that the Biden administration declined to attempt implementation of a vaccine mandate for all domestic air travelers despite Democrat lawmakers sending a letter urging him to do so.
Despite the milder symptoms with the Omicron variant, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that the Omicron variant may spread faster than Delta did and better evade vaccines.
So, in essence, it’s a widely spread cold.
But Dr. Fauci doesn’t care that it poses no real health risk, to him it is all about power and control. And Fauci sees further vaccine passports as a way to increase his iron grip on the nation.
Unfortunately for Fauci, President Joe Biden’s message on what the federal government can do about COVID appears to be shifting away from more federal government control as the latest variant hits Democratic-run states the hardest and the pandemic continues to spread under his watch.
He can no longer blame Donald Trump and GOP governors.
So Biden told governors on Monday that “there is no federal solution” to the coronavirus, but that Washington is standing by to help in what is largely a state matter.
“This gets solved at the state level,” Biden said in his first appearance at a National Governors Association briefing on COVID.
You can be sure Dr. Fauci did not take this news well.
