Joe Biden’s wayward son just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
It’s bad enough Hunter’s Ukrainian entanglements are back in the news as the war drums beat.
But now Hunter Biden’s in trouble again, and this time he’s been caught in bed with Communist China.
Hunter Biden just can’t seem to manage his emails!
Recently released emails show Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner, sent him an email in March 2017 breaking down the ownership interests of Rosemont Seneca Advisors.
This breakdown showed a 5% stake in Harves Amusement Parks and ownership in Harves Sports and Entertainment. It clearly also showed a joint venture with China Development Bank. The bank is, of course, owned by the Communist Chinese government.
Hunter’s first introduction to the Harves Group though, came two years earlier when the advisor to then-Vice President Joe Biden, Francis Person (who was also a “special assistant” to Biden in the Senate), sent an email to Hunter Biden in July 2015 inviting him to Communist China to meet his business partner, Bo Zhang, and his family.
Harves Century Group, which has financial backing from the ChiComm government-owned China Development Bank, is headquartered in Shenyang, China, and is the parent company of multiple U.S.-based Harves affiliates, including Harves Investment Group (HIG), Harves Global Entertainment, and Harves Sports.
Harves Century’s website says the chairwoman is Jenglan Shao, who is Bo Zhang’s mother according to Person’s 2015 email to Hunter Biden.
It is unclear what her background is or whether she is an American citizen, but her name comes up on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) website as a maxed-out donor to Person’s failed
2016 campaign against then-Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C. Schwerin and Hunter Biden each donated $2,700 to Person as well.
Person’s email to Hunter went on to say that Zhang is “being groomed to take over his family’s dynasty” adding that “there will be plenty of big things that come down the road that we can work on.”
The longtime Biden aide, who traveled with V.P. Biden to 49 of the 50 countries he visited through mid-2014, including Communist China, was described by then-second lady Jill Biden as “like a son to Joe and me” and someone who “will always be a part of our family.”
Person was named president of Harves in January 2015, less than six months after he left the White House.
Additional emails show that Person and Zhang met with Biden and Schwerin in Washington, D.C. on multiple occasions and emailed back-and-forth coordinating potential Harves-related business deals in the years since 2015. In one 2016 email, Biden calls Zhang his “good friend and business colleague.”
Of course, in addition to the shady dealings of a vice president’s son and foreign entities, one has to wonder seriously about the connection to the Communist Chinese government.
For example, in the original 2015 email to Hunter, Person revealed that Zhang’s father-in-law Liu Cigui was the governor of Hainan at the time. He was widely considered to be a strong Xi loyalist.
Cigui went straight to government service when he turned 20 going through various levels of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operations in Fujian, eventually serving as prefecture-level in Putian, a coastal city of 2 million.
And according to China Vitae, Cigui has been a member of the CCP Central Committee, which is the Communist Party’s highest level of authority, since 2012.
Yet another tie that Zhang has to the CCP was revealed in a December 2013 Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filing with the Justice Department, listing Zhang as the “Foreign Principal.”
So this was all known prior to Hunter Biden’s involvement, yet he still invested, still met with Zhang on multiple occasions, and still to the best of our knowledge is invested in this company today.
Will anyone do anything about it, or will we just sweep this under the rug like every other Hunter Biden crime?
