Mark Zuckerberg has made no secret of his radical leftist views.
And there’s no doubt his company’s corporate vision follows his political philosophy.
But now one nation has gone so far as to call Facebook’s parent- company, Meta, an “extremist organization.”
There’s an old saying: even a broken clock is right twice a day.
And that may be the case here.
According to an article in BlazeMedia, it seems Russian authorities are calling for Facebook and its parent-company Meta to be categorized as an “extremist organization.”
Russia had already banned Facebook in the motherland earlier this month after invading Ukraine.
But what prompted the Russian government to declare the social media empire an “extremist organization” was Facebook’s policy announcement that they would not be censuring violent comments or posts made about Vladimir Putin or Russian military forces in Ukraine.
Instagram, also owned by Meta, is banned in Russia as well.
Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor stated, “Messages shared on Instagram encourage and provoke violent actions toward Russians.”
In defense of this policy, Meta president of global affairs Nick Clegg stated, “Our policies are focused on protecting people’s rights to speech as an expression of self-defense in reaction to a military invasion of their country. The fact is, if we applied our standard content policies without any adjustments we would now be removing content from ordinary Ukrainians expressing their resistance and fury at the invading military forces, which would rightly be viewed as unacceptable.”
While most Americans agree that this allowance of violent posts against Putin and Russian troops are perfectly acceptable under
these circumstances, it also points out once again the absolute hypocrisy of Facebook’s policies.
They shut down President Donald Trump for being too “mean,” but ISIS terrorists can still post freely.
Planned Parenthood is allowed to promote the slaughter of unborn babies en masse, but pro-life advertising is shut down.
Instagram refuses to run a pro-Second Amendment post, but a video of mostly nude dancers holding guns while onlookers do drugs is totally fine.
Make no mistake – Vladimir Putin is certainly a despot and a thug, and the Russian government is conducting a brutal war and invading a sovereign nation.
And they are, by all accounts, committing unspeakable atrocities against the Ukrainian people.
But one thing is also true.
Mark Zuckerberg is, in fact, a radical leftist extremist.
And Facebook really is an ‘extremist organization.’
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
